Time, Attention and UX. How To Attract New Customers and Keep Them Happy!

In today’s world, the average attention span is about 9 seconds, the same attention span as a Goldfish.

If you’re not immediately capturing the attention of your audience, they will tap, swipe, and go someplace else.

At the same time, consumer expectations have never been higher. If you’re smart and good enough to capture your audience’s attention, then you must immediately provide value and an exemplary client experience (UX), or once again, they will tap, swipe and go on to the next service provider.

It’s a two-step process. One without the other isn’t going to work.

Using the right business building tools like social media and digital are important to your success. What I believe is ten times more important is creating a legendary UX while doing so.

My friend, Brian Solis, wrote about this critically important concept in two books, “WTF?: What’s the Future of Business?: Changing the Way Businesses Create Experiences” and “X: The Experience When Business Meets Design.” Both of Brian’s books have been instrumental in the UX we provide at the firm, my mastermind, and in several other of our businesses. If you haven’t read these two books, I suggest you get them today and dive in!

The next time you share content on social media and digital, think about the two steps I mentioned above. Ask yourself these three questions:

1. Am I capturing the attention of my audience?

2. Am I keeping that attention with a positive UX?

3. How easy is it for my audience to read, listen to, and watch, the content I’m posting?
